On September 1st, we arrived at the first home game of the season with freshly baked
cookies for our varsity football team. The cookies were made and delivered by Catrina Porter
and Chloe Price. Once the cookies were safely delivered to Coach Goldman (or so we thought), we carried on with our night. A few days passed and we had heard no remarks from any of the players about the cookies. And Catrina’s Tupperware container was also M.I.A. We began to wonder what in the world could have happened to the cookies. We even asked some of the players if they liked the cookies. Their responses were either “what cookies?” or “I didn’t get any cookies.” These remarks did not help our confusion. In our minds, it seemed so simple and easy to pull off.
At the football game the following week, we finally found the one person that should
most definitely know what had happened to the missing cookies, Coach Goldman (who was also the person the cookies were hand delivered to). You know it’s going to be a good conversation when his first remark is “oh...well...about that.” After he retrieved Catrina’s Tupperware, we finally got the story about the case of the missing cookies. It was really very simple. The coaches ate them. Well...most of them anyway. Apparently, after the game, the cookies were forgotten about and later eaten by the coaches. We also learned that a few players did in fact receive a cookie. The players that ate them all agreed that they were good. And evidently the coaches enjoyed them too. While Coach Wojtecki said he only ate one cookie, Coach Goldman said that he “only ate one...at a time”. All in all, it wasn’t a complete loss. The cookies were still eaten and obviously enjoyed as well.
Here is the recipe we used for the cookies:
~2 cups Brown sugar
~1 cup white sugar
~2 eggs
~1 cup melted butter
~3 cups all-purpose flour
~½ baking powder
~2 tsp vanilla extract
~About 2 cups of Chocolate chips
Directions
1.Preheat the oven to 350. Mix brown sugar, white sugar, flour, baking powder in a mixing
bowl. Then mix in eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract slowly to the dry ingredients.
2.Once the wet and dry ingredients are mixed together, fold in your chips. Cover and let sit
in the refrigerator for 20-30 mins.
3.Take out and it will be easier to form into squares or balls. You can freeze or bake now
