As our 2022-2023 basketball season comes to a conclusion, we should congratulate all of our teams for doing an outstanding job this season. Our JV Girls were the champions for their season, having an amazing season record of 13-4, and a conference record of 8-2. Congrats ladies!

Our Girls Varsity Lady Vikings team did an outstanding job this season, they worked very hard to get an overall record of 22-5, and a conference record of 9-3.In the end, they were tied for second place with East Surry! They also did an amazing job in the conference tournament, Tuesday, 2/13, they played Wilkes Central in the first round, and the final score in that game was 66-27. In the semifinals on Wednesday 2/15, they played East Surry, it was a very tough game, but after the hard determination, the Lady Viks won the game with the final score being 57-52. After this, they made it to the championship against the number one seed, North Surry! On Friday 2/17, our very own Lady Vikings won the championship game, with the final score being 61-30! What a blowout! Great job Lady Vikings, your school is beyond proud of your hard work. We look forward to seeing what you’ll accomplish in the state playoffs!

After the championship game, some of our ladies were awarded special awards, including Olivia Rhodes for All Conference, and Tournament MVP, Kate Brown for All Conference, and Tournament MVP, and Ralee Bare for All Conference, and Player of the Year! Congratulations ladies!

Our Men's basketball team had a great season, with a finishing record of 8-16, and a conference record of 2-10. They battled very hard for each game, gave each game their all. In the tournament, they played Surry Central in the first round on 2/13, but sadly in the end, they lost the game, with a final score of 44-76. But on Friday 2/17, we had 3 of our players awarded after the championship. Those players included Noah Royall, awarded with an honorable mention, Brandon Holloway, with All Conference, and Trevaun Hague also with All Conference. Great job guys! We hold great hopes for what you’ll hold for us in the future!
